Our plan as a brand is to payback to the environments that gets affected by the fabrication of skateboards. We plan on accomplishing this by putting 30% of profits towards plantation organisations to counter deforestation.
UrbanForest skateboards will be made of 100% Bamboo rather than traditional Canadian maple trees. This is because bamboo is highly recyclable and is the fastest growing plant on the planet! To give a comparison you can get 60 decks from a 25 year old maple tree, to create the same amount of decks from bamboo, it would take only 2 - 3 months. Which makes bamboo a more sustainable and effective material to use.
We also plan to start our own bamboo farm to make our decks UrbanForest grown, manufactured, and designed. Allowing us to make more of an impact against deforestation and put more funding towards replantation organisations.
UrbanForest shops will also feature 'Board Bins' which will allow skaters to hand in their broken decks to be recycled properly (All decks acceptable). This will also give skaters store credit allowing them to put money toward their next purchase.
UrbanForest aims to create a better relationship between skaters and the public eye, to accomplish this UrbanForest is arranging to startup skate schools across the UK. The Schools will feature different aspects of skating (Park, Street, Flat, Vert & Pump track) to allow skaters of all skill ranges to learn how to skate safely and respectfully, the course will cover safety training preparing skaters for potential situations that could leave them injured if they are unaware how to react. the school will also focus on teaching students different skill ranged tricks, giving them a chance to learn them in a safe environment allowing skaters to progress their abilities. A mandatory street course will be included teaching students how to skate responsibly, respectively and safely.
